November has been a weird month for me musically, because it felt like I wasn’t naturally discovering songs the way I used to. This month I had to actually go out and look for new music, which made the process of finding new songs a little bit more difficult than it usually is. However, I’ve discovered some great tunes this month, so without further ado, let’s start listing my November jams!
FAVORITE SONG THIS MONTH: Softly by Clairo (honorable mention to It’s Hard to Live in the City by Albert Hammond Jr.)
1. Chanel – Frank Ocean
I’ve actually known this song for awhile because my sister loves it, but I’ve really started appreciating and listening to it on my own this month, so I’m gonna include it.
2. I Don’t Feel Like Dancing – Scissor Sisters
3. Softly – Clairo
I literally listened to this song religiously for like a whole week. It’s like the more you listen to it the better it gets. It’s also right in my vocal range which makes it really fun to sing.
4. Daylight – 5 Seconds of Summer
I’ve been a fan of 5SOS for awhile now, so I’d heard this song before this month. But I started to really like it and listen to it a lot this month, so similarly to ‘Chanel’ I’m gonna put it in anyway.
5. Never Be Like You – Flume
Again, this month was not the month I actually discovered this song. It was pretty big on the radio a couple years back, so I recognized it from that, but this month was the first time that I properly listened to it on my own.
6. Hard to Live in the City – Albert Hammond Jr.
I didn’t know that the guy who makes this song is also in The Strokes, so that was a cool discovery. And it makes sense, because the guitar in this song is super Strokes-esque.
7. Rich Girls – The Virgins
An absolute bop. That’s all I have to say.
