Billy Joel: Cold Spring Harbor (1971) Song Ranking

Okay, I wasn’t planning on reviewing any more Billy Joel albums. Especially not this one, since it’s usually ranked as one of his worst (it was his debut, so let’s all be nice). However, one of my favorite BJ songs ever is on this album (you’ll see which one that is at the end of the ranking), so I decided to give it a listen. And honestly, this was much better than I was expecting. Is it as advanced lyrically and musically as most of his later work? No. But is there still enjoyment to be had out of this album? Very much so.

Billy Joel: An Innocent Man (1983) Song Ranking

Billy Joel’s ninth studio album, An Innocent Man, is actually really great. Usually I prefer Billy as a singles artist rather than an album artist, but this album was awesome the whole way through. Seriously, there’s not a single weak track. Maybe it’s because this a concept album; all the songs are inspired by 60s-music, and as a big 60s-music lover, I guess it was bound to sit well with me.

Billy Joel: Turnstiles (1976) Songs Ranked

In this post, I’ll be ranking all of the songs on Billy Joel’s classic fourth studio album, Turnstiles, from worst to best. Keep in mind, this is all based on my personal enjoyment, with a just a little bit of objectivity considered. (Also, side note: for some reason I really like the cover and name for this album. Like, turnstiles are so fun!)
